Emergency Department Technician:
Minimum Qualification:
High school diploma/ GED required.
Current certification as a West Virginia Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic preferred
OR
High school diploma/ GED required
2 years’ experience in an Emergency Department or pre-hospital setting required.
Current CPR card or successful completion of Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Course within 4 weeks of employment.
Position Summary: Performs nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered professional nurse and/or licensed medical provider. Assists in providing high quality, cost-effective care by performing delegated tasks. The Emergency Department (ED) Technician must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care relevant to their scope, as well as applying principles of growth and development over the life span.
