Charleston Fire Department is now accepting applications for firefighter paramedics. Starting salary with ambulance ride time and holiday pay is about $43,300 plus overtime. We work a 24 on 48 off schedule. Typical shift day is 12 hours on ambulance and 12 hours on fire engine. We receive a kelly shift every 8th shift, meaning that every 21 days you get 5 days off in a row.
