Find a testing center
Introduction
West Virginia requires that new Emergency Medical Responder and Emergency Medical Technician personnel take and pass either the State Initial Examination or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Initial Examination as a prerequisite for certification to practice. Periodic recertification DOES NOT require NREMT testing. A State evaluation exam is performed based on the level of certification attained.
National Registry Testing
Testing for the National Registry examination is performed by Pearson Vue .
To locate the NREMT test center nearest you, visit Vue's NREMT Test Center Locator or view our database of West Virginia NREMT Test Centers.
More information is available on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians web site.
