WV Designated Stroke Centers

As of August 1, 2018, WV now has designated stroke centers.  This designation has been implemented as a result of SB510 which was passed in the WV Legislature in 2017.  WV OEMS will be updating the listing and map of designated stroke centers at least annually.

EMS Compass

EMS Compass, an organization funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of EMS and led by the National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO), develops performance measures that are relevant to EMS agencies, regulators, and patients. The measures, based on the latest version of the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS), will allow local and state EMS systems to use their own data meaningfully.

The first of these performance measures are related to stroke.  Please see the following press release and website.
