Recert Submission Deadline
2016 EMT certification expiration date is December 31 2016.
To insure that you have your card in hand by January 1, WVEOMS must be in receipt of a complete recertification packet (all documentation complete) no later than September 30. BE ADVISED: while every effort will be made to speedily process all certifications, for packets completed after September 30, uninterrupted certification can not be guaranteed.
HAZMAT continuing education is an annual requirement. In order to recertify, you must have at least 4 hours every year. This does NOT equate to 8 hours for the recertification cycle. Again, at least 4 hours of HAZMAT training is required every year.
The new certification and recertification polices are in effect. Old policies will no longer be used in meeting requirements for certification or recertification. The new policies are posted on this website. The new education policy (also posted on this website) works in conjunction with the certification and recertification policies, so please refer to this policy as well for additional clarification for continuing education requirements.
Please refer to http://www.wvoems.org/files/policy/emt-certification-recertification for our new policies.
