The Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH)/Community Paramedicine (CP) Program was created to assist with the clinical care coordination between patients and providers by performing medication inventory and compliance checks, community resource navigation, home safety checks, such as fall risk assessments, post-discharge education, etc. In order to increase the number of Paramedics trained, the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (WVOEMS) secured funding through the Office of Community Health Systems and Health Promotions' Preventative Block Grant. This will allow the Community and Technical Colleges to offer this course at a greatly reduced price.
The MIH/CP course will provide the necessary training to test for the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) MIH/CP Certification.
Lectures will be hosted by Mountwest Community and Technical College conducted on-line via Blackboard. Laboratory and Clinical Rotations will be conducted through the participating colleges.
The following Community and Technical Colleges have been approved to offer the MIH/CP course beginning March 15, 2020:
Mountwest Community and Technical College Edward Bays (304) 710-3528
