Norman Thomas "Tom" Weddle, age 52, of Crab Orchard, passed away March 24, 2017 surrounded by loving family and close friends. Tom fought a courageous battle with Nasopharyngeal Cancer. 
Born August 1, 1964 in Zanesville Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert Jack Weddle and Eleanor Meadows of Daniels.

Prior to Tom's illness he was a very hard working man. He joined the Marines just out of high school only to get a neck injury after completing boot camp and was honorably discharged. He was a volunteer firefighter for Sophia Volunteer Fire Department. Tom was one of the best and most kind Paramedics this region has ever seen, he worked as a Paramedic for 30 years also serving the Red Cross and Regional Command at Raleigh General Hospital. He also worked as Assistant Manager at Auto Zone, Subway and CGC Construction. 
Tom enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved the Beatles Star Trek, and was a huge fan of DC Comics, especially Batman. He enjoyed fixing things, he always said "I can fix anything from a broken heart to the crack of dawn!"

Tom is survived by his two sons, Justin Grant of MacArthur, Adam Geoffrey wife Chelsey; two grandchildren, Christian and Klover Weddle of Ranielle, WV; sister Wendy Brown and husband Gary of Daniels, brothers Frank Farrington, wife Mary, their children Jacob, Veronica and Spencer of Winchester, Ind., Robert Weddle and his daughters Emily and Keli of Sophia, WV.

Tom is also survived by a host of special family and friends. Ron Blankenship and Susan of Grandview, Jeffrey and Linda Pittman of Sophia, Kenny Churning and wife Donna of Beckley. Special friend and mother of his children Robin Fisher and "husband in law" as Tom called him, Glen Fisher. Grant and Adam's half brothers, who Tom enjoyed spending time with, EJ and Caleb Fisher.

Funeral services are Thursday, March 29 at 2 pm at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Chaplain Craig Dorsey will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hot Coal Cemetery at Sophia. The family will be receiving friends at 12 noon. 
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Churning, Ron Blankenship, Grant Weddle, Adam Weddle, Trey Blankenship and Glen Fisher.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Pittman, Frank Farrington, Robbie Weddle and Barry Wood.

Family would like to extend a special thank you to Bower's Hospice House who took excellent care of Tom and his family.

In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy to Melton Mortuary to offset the funeral expenses will be highly appreciated.
