Doug "Papaw" McLain, 66, of Parkersburg, WV died Saturday June 24, 2017 at CCMC Memorial Campus. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Robert and Ruth (Davis) McLain. He retired after forty-one years of honorable service from the Parkersburg Police Department and was a member of FOP Lodge 79. He was also an EMT for St. Joseph's Ambulance for forty years and was currently employed by the Parkersburg Police Department. He was a member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving from 1970 to 1974. He is survived by his wife Pennie McLain; son Christopher McLain of Maryland; four grandchildren Christian Lee (Katie), Justin, Timothy, Nate Cronin and their parents Dona & Dave Cronin; a brother Michael McLain (Debra); aunt T. Dolores "Doe" Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday 1:00 PM at Parkersburg High School Auditorium followed by a police escort and military honors by American Legion Post 15 and United States Marine Corps Wood County Detachment 1087 at Evergreen Cemetery North. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and Wednesday 11 to 1 at the auditorium. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
