Shaver's Fork Fire and Rescue, the West Virginia Office of EMS, and the EMS for Children program are proud to announce the Rope Rescue for Wilderness Medicine course.

This free course is designed to assist the wilderness rescuer in learning advance techniques and skills to access and recover an injured patient in a wilderness setting.  Students will learnrope2

  • how to size-up considerations.
  • rope care, design and knots
  • patient packaging
  • lower and hauling systems

Please note that this course does not meet the WV Fire Commission's requirement for rope rescue training.

Much of the class is conducted outside, so come prepared for any weather.
