According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the EMS for Children Program, approximately 6 million children are transported by ambulance each year in the United States. Yet even with that many patients, standard federal guidance outlining the most appropriate manner for safely transporting pediatric patients does not exist.
Leaders in West Virginia haven't let that stop them from making sure their state's kids are transported more safely.
