Many EMS agencies and other organizations received Zoll AEDs from the WV Office of EMS as part of the Rural Access to Emergency Defibrillation grant. These AEDs were distributed between January 1 2003 and December 31 2007 to EMS agencies, fire departments, law enforcement departments, schools boards, local health departments and others.

The attached letter from ZOLL MEDICAL CORPORATION explains an identified issue with some of these devices. The letter also explains corrective actions needed to ensure the device functions as anticipated.

Please take a minute to review the letter and check any Zoll AED Plus Defibrillators your agency may have received. If you distributed these in your communities, please take the time to follow up and ensure the devices have updated.

Zoll has 24/7 technical support numbers in place to assist you in determining if this notice is applicable to your AED and to help you with the corrective process. Technical support can be reached at 800-348-9011.

PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ALONG TO OTHER AED USERS IN YOUR COMMUNITIES.
