Memo on EMT-B Fee Payment

As you all know, certification fees have been implemented for the certification of EMS personnel in West Virginia. Through December 31, 2009, those fees only apply to candidates taking the state EMT-B examination.

Per EMT-B Basic Certification Examination Policy 2.11.09 (see attachment below), a non-refundable fee of $75.00 is to be submitted in a manner specified by WVDHHR-Bureau for Public Health.

We need to clarify two items in this policy:

1. There is no discount if the candidate has previosly submitted his or her fingerprint fee to the State Police.
2. The only payment methods currently authorized are personal money order or EMS agency check. No other form of payment will be accepted.
