March A. Tucker Sr.

The WV EMS community has lost another "founding father" recently, March A. Tucker Sr., 68, of Dunbar, formerly of Boomer, died March 26, 2009.

He was born February 23, 1941, at Kimberly and was the son of the late Callie and Francis Stacey Tucker.

He was retired from the West Virginia EMS Technical Support Network. He had been active in statewide EMS services since the early 1970s, was in the second class of paramedics in the state of West Virginia and was the 177th paramedic in the state. He was one of the founding directors of Valley Ambulance Service and a former fire chief of Boomer Volunteer Fire Department with 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Surviving: wife, Nancy Legg Tucker; children, March Tucker II of Charleston and Kimberly DeBolt and her husband, Ed, of Dunbar; stepchildren, Christine Coles and her husband, Patrick, of Charleston, Sonya Bostic of Harrisburg, Pa., and Brian Bostic of Fola; grandchildren, Arron Tucker, Michael Tucker, Jonathan DeBolt and Hanna Debolt; stepgrandchildren, Jerrod Coles and Allison Coles; sister, Patricia Fisher of Indianapolis, Ind.; two nephews and one niece.
