A number of interested parties have discussed a series of significant issues relevant to the statewide EMS System in West Virginia over the past several months. To that end, the West Virginia Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council has been tasked with making recommendations regarding strategic direction for the EMS System. In order to develop these strategic recommendations, a series of town meetings will be held to allow the EMS community the opportunity to help identify issues. All of the components that make up the system are being looked at. Two presentations will be held at these meetings; the first will be information developed from a nationwide survey completed by the National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO) and the second will cover information contained in the Rural and Frontier EMS Agenda for the Future published by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). The purpose of these presentations will be to show how the West Virginia EMS System compares on a nationwide level and to assist you in coming up with ideas for the meeting. Town meetings are currently scheduled for the following locations.
